On the recommendations of Balwantray Mehta Committee, Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961 was applied in the state since 1-4-1963.

Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department takes policy decisions on the matters relating to Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development, Department also issues orders and provide guidelines. Thus, this department carries out work with advice, suggestions, control and monitors the same.

The basic ideology behind the exhibit display was the landmark that Gujarat has achieved in the rural networking sector. Approach Media gave it a festive look by placing the banner with the title Gram Panchayat Nirman Vibhag. It also exhibits the culture of Gujarat. Space usage was optimized by creating multi – level interaction area and correct placement of panels featuring Mr. Narendra Modi. Overall the exhibition stalls were elegant presenting the Satellite Technology.
